North Olympic Foster Parent Association members John Glavin, far left, Tom Hostedler, Lori Brothers, Carol Pope and Colleen Robinson, far right, stand with First Federal manager Christy Rookard, holding a check, to receive a $2,000 donation from the bank for the association’s backpack program. Last year the association gave about 200 backpacks filled with school supplies to foster families, Robinson said. Most of the school supplies were donated through drop-off locations at Walgreens, Anytime Fitness, Sound Community Bank and All Safe Mini Storage in Sequim. The backpacks will be given to foster families at the association’s annual picnic at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28, at Lincoln Park in Port Angeles. For more information, call Lori Brothers or Carol Pope at 683-6646.  Sequim Gazette photo by Amanda Winters
