The Washington State University Clallam County Extension Master Gardener program will begin weekly plants clinics for the 2012 growing season March 1 in Port Angeles. Clinics are staffed by local Master Gardener volunteers and designed to help answer gardening questions and solve insect and plant disease and identification problems for home landscapes and gardens.

 

Clinics are free and open to all home gardeners. No appointments are necessary and walk-ins and phone calls are encouraged. Bagged samples of healthy and/or damaged areas of plants, including stems, leaves, flowers, fruits or cones, as well as living specimens of pests, are necessary for proper identification.

 

Clinics are every Thursday from March 1-29 at the WSU Extension Office in the Clallam County Courthouse, Port Angeles. Hours are from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

 

Clallam County Master Gardeners, a cooperative program between WSU Extension and Clallam County, provides up-to-date information on sustainable gardening practices.

 

Master Gardener volunteers also address environmental and social priorities such as water conservation, the protection of water quality, reducing the impact of invasive species and healthy living through gardening.
