The King and Princess Polly have varmint trouble. It might be a pesky unicorn. It could be a cantankerous giant hog. Or maybe it's a fire-breathing dragon. Who can deal with these troublesome varmints? Why, Little Man Jack, of course, the world champion varmint whacker!

Oregon Shadow Theatre's colorful shadow puppets and live banjo and hammered dulcimer music bring this Appalachian fairy tale to life.

The Portland-based theater company has toured the United States and Canada with its award-winning shadow plays including performances at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., the Northwest Puppet Center in Seattle and the Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta, Ga.

The group performs at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, at the Sequim High School auditorium, 533 N. Sequim Ave., and at 3 p.m. at the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St. Both interactive programs are open to the public and are intended for elementary school-age children and their families.
