Oasis Sports Bar & Grill owner Dale Dunning believes in having fun every day of the week.

He and Jan — his wife and business partner — split their time between businesses in Sequim and Seattle for now and they credit their time in the city for a lot of the new events taking place at the Oasis in the past year. The most recent addition to the calendar is Thursday evening beer-tasting dinners, starting at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27.

The fourth Thursday of every month, the Oasis will feature a brewery, with food to accompany the beer. A brewery representative will give a presentation and answer questions, as will the chef. The first brewery highlighted is Alaskan Brewery.

Customers will receive a gourmet four-course meal — complete with appetizer, soup, entrée and dessert — of items not on the regular menu. A different beer from the selected brewery will be paired with each course.

Call to make reservations.

“The beer and food always taste better at these things,” Dunning said. “A lot of people don’t think of beer as gourmet, but it can be.”

Dunning, who purchased the Oasis about a year ago, describes the bar and grill as a “comfortable and clean (place).

"This is a place where regular people come to hang out,” he continued. “On its own, it’s a very good restaurant and a fun place for people to meet.”

Friday and Saturday nights at the Oasis typically feature live music; Sunday is trivia and Wii Bowling League night; and on Wednesday, karaoke rules.

Dunning said he’s considering starting a Monday movie night special.

A list of upcoming events is available online at www.theoasissequim.com.
