The Glad Tidings Handbell Ringers, The Peninsula Singers and the Altissimo Flute Choir will host “Music with a Mission” at 7 p.m. Sunday, June 5, in the main sanctuary of the Sequim Community Church, 950 N. Fifth Ave.
All of the musicians are donating their time; all of the proceeds benefit the clubs.
Tickets cost $10 per person or $20 for a family and are available in advance at the Sequim Community Church office or from the Sequim or Port Angeles Boys & Girls Clubs. Tickets also can be purchased at the door the day of the concert.
“I know the Boys & Girls Clubs can use all the money we can raise,” said Laura Anderson, publicity chairman and a member of the handbell choir.
“If you’ve heard the Glad Tidings Handbell Ringers, you know what an amazing experience it is,” Anderson said. “If you haven’t, you are in for a treat!”
The tunes won’t be religious or classical but will include several familiar show tunes.
“You will enjoy the music because it’s all really different from what you’d expect,” Anderson said about the entire show. “This is the collaborative effort of a lot of very talented individuals to support the local youth.”
The Glad Tidings Handbell Ringers are led by conductor Judy Johnson; The Peninsula Singers is conducted by Dewey Ehling; and Sharon Snel leads the Altissimo Flute Choir.
