Christmas Chorus

begins rehearsals

Singers of all ages, backgrounds and experience levels are invited to join the Sequim Christmas Chorus. Music is provided and no auditions are necessary.

Gary McRoberts directs the chorus, which gives three concerts - 7:30 p.m. Dec. 5 and 2 p.m. Dec. 6-7 at Sequim Bible Church.

Rehearsals for the 24th annual program begin at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 29, at Sequim Bible Church, 847 N. Sequim Ave. Rehearsals continue 6:45-9 p.m. Mondays through October and November.

The Christmas Chorus donates a portion of the concert proceeds to Sequim Community Aid.

City band in concert

The Sequim City Band will present the final outdoor concert of the 2008 season at the James Center for the Performing Arts at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21.

The 60-member concert band, led by guest conductor and founder Chuck Swisher, will play a variety of marches and other music including selections from "The Lion King," "Stardust" performed by clarinetist Bob

Golightly, and "Do You Know What it Means to Miss New Orleans" featuring guest vocalist Barbara Hughes.

Bring chairs or blankets to this free concert at the James Center band stand just north of Carrie Blake Park.
