Suspected Sequim crack dealer charged

The Sequim Police Department reportedly used an informant to purchase two rocks of crack cocaine from a Sequim man for $100 in early December.
As a result, Mark Juan Buckner, 46, was charged Dec. 26 with two counts of delivering a controlled substance, cocaine.
Buckner lived in a downtown apartment on the 100 block of North Sunnyside Avenue when the informant approached him for the drugs, according to police reports.
Field tests of the suspected crack rocks were positive for the presence of cocaine.
Sequim Police often use informants to purchase drugs with department money in order to ascertain whether the suspected dealer is selling drugs.
Police officers search the informant's person and vehicle before and after making the deal in order to track all money and contraband involved in the exchange.
In this instance, officers equipped the informant with an audio recording device and listened to the conversation while the alleged drug deal was being made on Dec. 6.
The police report indicates that Buckner told the informant to come back and get more of the drug if he needed it.
