John Naples, Canon certified trainer, has completed training and trained technical staff on Canon's new Color imagerunner multi-function series machines and e-copy scanning software for Pacific Office Equipment:

Massage by Joy! opened for business on March 5 and is taking appointments at Kaboom Salon, 322 W. Cedar St., Sequim.

Owner Joy C. Tormala, a licensed massage practitioner, offers several modalities including hot stone, deep tissue, Swedish, Russian, sports massage and cranial sacral therapy.

She has lived in Sequim since 1971 and is a graduate of the Utah College of Massage Therapy Family of Schools.

Craig Cooger will speak at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 4, at McComb Gardens, 751 McComb Road, Sequim.

The title of his presentation is "Testing and Building Your Soil." The seminar is free; come early, seating is limited.

Healthy soil is basic to healthy plants, says Cooger, who will discuss what is important and unimportant, how to test your soils and how to improve them.

Cooger is an Extension and research soil scientist with Washington State University, Puyallup.



The Kid's Closet hosts a free cloth diaper workshop for parents and soon-to-be parents who are interested in learning about cloth diapering at 4 p.m. April 4 at 112 S. Lincoln St., Port Angeles.

Children are welcome to attend and can either play in the toy room or watch children's movies in the movie tent. Snacks and drinks will be available courtesy of Spicer's Deli and discounts on cloth diapers will be available the day of the workshop only.
