Peninsula College graduate Chris Davis returns to the Olympic Peninsula to give a piano recital at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 5, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 525 N. Fifth Ave., Sequim.

Works will include Liszt's "Legend No. 1, St. Francis of Assisi: Sermon to the Birds;" Mozart's Sonata in B Flat Major, K 333; Prokofiev's

Toccata, op. 11; Liszt's "Legend No. 2, St. Francis of Paul: Walking on the Water;" and Rachmaninoff's Sonata No. 2 in B Flat Minor, op. 36, (revised).

The program is free. Donations will be accepted.

While in high school under the tutelage of Sequim piano instructor Pat Marcy, Davis was selected to represent the Olympic Peninsula Chapter at the Washington State Music Teachers state convention.

In 2002-2003, he was staff accompanist at Portland Community College and shared the first prize in the piano division in the Mu Phi Epsilon scholarship competition.

He received the grand prize in composition for a piano piece submitted to Portland's 2003 Art Beat week.

While an undergraduate at Western Washington University, Davis accompanied the theater department's 2004 summer stock and was pianist for the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Mount Vernon from 2005-2007.

Last summer, Davis performed in a master class at the International Portland Piano Festival.

This past winter, he was one of nine pianists chosen to participate in the Icicle Creek Piano Festival in Leavenworth.

Davis is completing his final quarter of his master's degree at the University of Washington.

He is the son of Ted and Peggy Davis of Port Angeles.
