The Sequim Open Aire Market, which weekly gathers some of the area's best artists, farmers and food producers, will be open from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday on Cedar Street in downtown Sequim.
It continues to welcome new vendors and products nearly a month into its 2009 season.
What and who are new this week:
• Hand-crafted wooden baskets and boxes that feature intricate detail in both woodworking and finish. Welcome, Art by Francine.
• Hand-thrown pottery that's both beautiful and functional. Welcome, Magnificent Mud.
• Wood-laminate items from cutting boards to wine holders. Welcome, Laminations in Time.
The market also is where to find delicious local food and farm products. Organic produce from Nash's Organic Produce (the over-wintered cauliflower is simply too sweet) is complemented by baked goods of The Bell Street Bakery.
Seafood lovers can carry off a bag full of shellfish from QuilBay Seafood in one hand and a cut of halibut from Tuna Dan in the other. And then there's the cheese ...
Live music accompanies the buying and selling. This week the market welcomes The Charlie Ferris Show for his first Open Aire performance from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. in the market square.
