Olympic Land Trust invites public to honor staffer, meet successor

North Olympic Land Trust's conservation director Allison Lutz is moving from the Olympic Peninsula to Bend, Ore.
The land trust is hosting a public celebration honoring her work from 4-7 p.m. today, July 29, at the land trust office, 104 N. Laurel St., Suite 104, Port Angeles.
Executive Director Greg Good said Lutz has been "a keystone in the organization's success over the past five years."
"Under her direction, the land trust has conserved more than 800 acres - more than double the acreage that had been protected when she started working with the organization."
Michele d'Hemecourt will become the organization's conservation director on Aug. 1.
The new conservation director brings a background of working with land trusts for five years, most recently as land protection director at the Land Trust for Central North Carolina.
