Old Costco becoming new PUD

A Poulsbo company won the bid Monday to convert the old Costco Wholesale building in Carlsborg for Clallam County Public Utility District's warehouse operations.
Drury Construction of Poulsbo's bid of $1.376 million was the lowest of nine. Construction should begin in about a week and last 90 days.
Clallam PUD agreed in September to pay $3.8 million for the 14-plus acre property and 72,000-square-foot building at the southwest corner of Hooker Road and U.S. Highway 101.
The district plans to use the building as its main warehouse and possibly build a new headquarters west of the building.
Clallam PUD's current headquarters is at 2431 E. Highway 101, east of Port Angeles.
