New vendors continue to join the Sequim Open Aire Market.
This week, Rainshadow Roasting Company -
Sequim's own hometown coffee roaster - offers whole roasted coffee beans on Cedar Street.
Why buy coffee beans at the Open Aire Market? Because you can meet owner and chief bean roaster Don Batcheller and learn first-hand about his process, the source of his beans or just about anything else coffee-related. You will be supporting a new local business while enjoying the sunshine and time spent with friends and neighbors.
The more you engage with market vendors, the more you can get from your experience. Market vendors have a wealth of knowledge and information and share an infectious passion for their craft.
Handcrafts by local artisans include birdhouses and garden art, bath and body products, fine art, clothing and fiber arts, pottery and stoneware, fine jewelry and stones. Most visitors leave the market amazed that Sequim is home to so many talented people.
Of course, many come to the market for the produce.
This week, Nash's Best! brand carrots are back. Nash says it is time to preorder beans and beets for pickling. Basil still is on sale, and
watermelons, cantaloupes and nectarines still are available through a direct arrangement between Nash's and an organic farm in Eastern Washington.
The market's other farm and food vendors and their products include delicious cheeses from Fairaview Farm, fresh local fish from Tuna Dan, gorgeous flower bouquets, even a native plant for the garden from Pacific Northwest Naturals.
Music fills the air from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. each week, and this Saturday will be hot no matter the weather as Sequimarimba presents its only Open Aire Market performance of the season. Wear those dancing shoes!
When not dancing your way around the umbrellas, be sure to visit representatives from Jake's Crew, a project of the Children's Hospital Guild, and some great folks who care for our four-legged friends with WAG, the Welfare for Animals Guild. These are the Suzanne Arnold Community Booth participants this week and their booths may be found in the market square.
