The Juan de Fuca Festival's concert season opens on Friday, Oct. 9, with Neil Berg's "100 Years of Broadway." The Port Angeles show will feature musical director and pianist Neil Berg as well as Rita Harvey (Christine Daee in "Phantom of the Opera,") Ray McLeod (Wreck in "Wonderful Town") and Carter Calvert (Grizabella in "Cats").

"100 Years of Broadway" recreates great moments from top shows of the past century featuring the actual stars of the shows. The cast is subject to change based on their Broadway and touring schedules.

In addition, local singers will join the stars on stage for part of the show. Up to two winners and up to 10 runners-up will be selected by a panel of industry experts including producers, singers and managers as well as Berg himself.

To audition, contestants should upload a 90- to 120-second video clip of themselves singing a Broadway favorite to YouTube, MySpace or Facebook by 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21, following the online instructions at www.singing withthebroadwaystars.com.

The panel will judge the audition videos to decide who will get the chance to show off their singing skills in front of their family and friends with five Broadway stars and an all-star New York band.

Winners will be announced on Sept. 25. For more complete details about the entry process, see www.singingwith thebroadwaystars.com.

Tickets for the performance are available at Port Book and News in Port Angeles, Pacific Mist Books in Sequim, by phone at 457-5411, or through the Juan de Fuca Festival Web site at www.jffa.org.
