Dungeness Community Church will present the LeadNOW National Conference to the North Olympic Peninsula on Saturday, Nov. 7.

Eight speakers will talk about Creating a Culture of Service, Launching Small Groups to Action and Connecting Your People to Those in Need. The live broadcast, presented in conjunction with the Church Communication Network (CCN), features nationally-recognized church leaders.

Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. at the church, 45 Eberle Lane, Sequim, and the simulcast begins at 9 a.m. Participants will break from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Participants are invited to bring a sack lunch and join in discussions of the morning speakers. Beverages will be provided. The afternoon session ends at 4 p.m.

Admission costs $10 and participants are welcome to attend only part of the event if they cannot attend all day. Snacks will be available in the morning and afternoon.

Featuring speakers Donald Miller, Francis Chan, Catherine Rohr, George Barna, Alan Danielson, Anne Jackson, Matt Chandler, and Mark Batterson, LeadNOW 2009 challenges 20- and 30-somethings to apply their faith, not just discuss it.

"I can honestly say that I've never been more excited about ministry," said Chan, a pastor, author and LeadNOW speaker.

"I feel like this generation is discontent with the way church has been. A lot of these people are reading the Bible and looking at church and thinking, 'This doesn't match up.'"

Donald Miller, featured speaker, is the author of many books including the best-seller "Blue Like Jazz." Chan is pastor of Cornerstone Church in Simi Valley, Calif., and a frequent speaker to high school and college audiences. He is the author of "Crazy Love."
