The Oasis Sports Bar & Grill, 301 E. Washington St., has been sold.

Dale and Janice Dunning of Sequim will own the business once the changes in liquor licenses are approved.

Owner Debbie Seavy decided to sell the Oasis to focus on her other business, the Islander Pizza and Pasta Shack, 380 E. Washington St., that opened in April.

"Running two businesses is quite time consuming and we (her husband Ken Cram and she) want to have a little more time to ourselves," Seavy said.

"We feel good about what we're doing at the Islander."

The Dunnings have owned Wall Street Custom Clothiers on Mercer Island for 23 years, which creates custom clothing and does alterations.

Dale Dunning said they've been looking for an opportunity to own a business like the Oasis for a long time.

"It's a turnkey business because they have a good clientele," he said.

"We won't make any changes immediately."

They do plan, however, to promote their food offerings more.

"Our cook Janet Siever is one of the best on the peninsula. We want to let her shine."

They plan to promote the community aspect of the bar, too.

"We have come to the Oasis for a while and we want to emphasize that this is 'where friends meet,'" Dunning said.

The Oasis holds Halloween costume parties from

9 p.m.-2 a.m. Friday-Saturday, Oct. 30-31. Cash and Seahawks tickets prizes will be awarded for best costumes.

There is no cover charge. DJ OB1 provides music.
