It's "Twilight" time in Forks. As the popularity of four best-selling novels by Stephenie Meyer continues and a second movie release is expected Nov. 21, the Olympic Peninsula Explorers Volkssport Club will host 5K (3.1 mile) and 10K (6.2 mile) walks in Forks on Saturday, Nov. 14.

The walks (rated 1) will begin at the Transit Center on the corner of Forks Avenue (U.S. Highway 101) and E Street. Start between

9 a.m.-1 p.m. and finish by 4 p.m.

The walks take hikers by Forks High School, where Bella met Edward (her first vampire), near the Thriftway Store where she shopped and the Forks Outfitters. Hikers also will pass Forks Community Hospital where Dr. Cullen worked in the emergency room.

Continuing along city streets, the walk goes past the Forks Police Station where Bella's father, Charlie Swan, is the chief of police.

Shops and photo opportunities line the route as well as many places to eat. Walkers should dress for rainy weather.

Water and restrooms are available at the start/finish area and at several places along the route. Pets are permitted; owners are responsible for leash and clean-up laws.

Anyone may participate for free. However, everyone, including children, must register, carry and return a start card. Children must be accompanied by adults.

For more information, contact Mary Allen at 452-0593 or visit Web site www.olympus.net/community/ope.
