Library parking lot closing

The Sequim Library’s parking lot will be closed from 8 a.m. Monday, Dec. 7, through 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, while the building is being connected to the city sewer system.
The library, 630 N. Sequim Ave,. will remain open during the project with parking available next door at Sequim Worship Center, 640 N. Sequim Ave. Pedestrian access will be available from the church parking lot, but the sidewalk in front of the library will be closed for most of the project.
The drive-up book bins will be available for foot traffic only.
The Friends of Sequim Library book sale will take place as planned on Friday and Saturday Dec. 11-12.
Once the library is connected to the city sewer system, the existing septic tank will be abandoned in accordance with city and state regulations. Cost of the project is $62,764. Quadra Engineering of Sequim is in charge of project design and engineering. Primo Construction of Carlsborg is doing the work.
