Peninsula College's Opportunity Grant program has funds to assist with college tuition for up to 45 credits and the cost of textbooks.

The grants are awarded on a first_come, first_served basis. Applicants must complete the 2010_2011 Free Application for Federal Student Aid, have a complete financial aid file and meet the Opportunity Grant eligibility criteria. The 2010_2011 FAFSA will be online at www.fafsa.ed.gov starting Jan. 1.

Grant requirements are: 18 or older, a Washington resident, have earned less than an associate degree, show financial need on the FAFSA and be registered in one of the following programs: addiction studies, administrative office systems - accounting option, automotive technology, composite structures, criminal justice, early childhood education, information technology, massage therapy, medical assistant, nursing, welding technology, woodworking or homebuilding.

Students must enroll in a quarterly one-credit Opportunity Grant class that teaches student- and life-success strategies. They will receive one_on_one assistance to help them achieve their educational goals
