Peninsula College names memorial fund for Chinese international students

The Peninsula College Foundation has set up a memorial fund for the two international students who lost their lives in a car accident on December 12. Donations should be sent to the Peninsula College Foundation’s Cheung/Li Memorial Fund, 1502 East Lauridsen Blvd., Port Angeles, WA 98382.
Duo Li, from Nanning, China, and Chi Kan Cheung from Hong Kong, were second year students pursuing their Associate Degrees. The funds will be used to help cover expenses incurred by the students’ families who traveled from China to Port Angeles to make arrangements for their children.
Our international students are an integral part of our college community. They bring diverse cultural perspectives and enrich the experience for all of us—students, faculty, staff and the community. In short, our international students help make Peninsula College the wonderful institution that it is. At a time like this, it is important that we all take care of each other, keep the families in our thoughts, and remember the lives of these two beautiful young people. It is critical that we provide the most comforting and respectful environment for those who lost their loved ones—they too are part of our college community.
