Student artists ready work for coming show

Martha Rudersdorf's art class is preparing entries for the Museum and Art Center's Student Art Show in March. Each student is creating three works, and Rudersdorf will help them decide which two to enter.
Student artists from Clallam County are encouraged to enter one or two pieces for the show. The entry fee is $1 for each entry. Entries may be submitted at the MAC, 175 W. Cedar St., Sequim, from 3-5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, or from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, Feb. 27.
In Rudersdorf's class, Patrick Carpenter, Alisa Lee, Anna LaBeaume and Jake Bonitazio are working on acrylic paintings, although Bonitazio says he prefers colored pencils. Sage Brown is working in colored pencil on a poster for the student film festival, and Julie Miller is blending pencil strokes into shadows and textures. Brenna Moore works in watercolor, while Olivia Fazio works in pastels and Holly Bittick in chalk pastels.
Show pieces can be 3-D art as well as pictures. For more information, call 681-2257, visit www.macsequim.org, or visit the MAC.
An artists reception is 5-8 p.m. Friday, March 5, with awards presented at 6 p.m. The show runs through March 27.
