Photo courtesy of North Olympic Land TrustAn aerial photography film, a bicycle tour and a visit to a sport horse farm will fill North Olympic Land Trust’s first Earth Day Weekend, April 16-18. There is no charge for the activities.
At 6 p.m. Friday, April 16, in the Little Theater at Peninsula College, 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd., Port Angeles, aerial photographers Dave Woodcock and Russ Mellon will show some of their images of the Olympic Peninsula from the air. Woodcock and Tim McNulty also will be on hand to sign their new book, “From the Air, Olympic Peninsula.”
At 7 p.m., the 2009 documentary film “Home” will be shown. It illustrates the current state of planet Earth with aerial scenes shot from above 50 countries. After the film, Woodcock, Mellon and McNulty will lead a discussion.
At 9 a.m. Saturday, April 17, a bicycle trip is planned starting from Robin Hill Farm County Park, off Dryke Road 1/4 mile south of U.S. Highway 101 near Sequim. The tour will cover about 12 miles of relatively flat terrain. Participants should bring sack lunches and water. They will stop at these Land Trust sites:
• Jerry and Mary Schmidt’s Freedom Farm
• Steve Johnson’s Lazy J Tree Farm
• Cheryl Smith and Judy Winthrop’s Windsong acreage
• Ruth Jenkins and John Warrick’s Discovery Trail easement
• Nancy McLaughlin’s Rancho VERIP.
From 10 a.m.-noon Sunday, April 18, Ken and Sue Sweeneys’ Serenity Farm will be open for a tour of the sport horse farm. Parking is available at the farm near the end of Gellor Road, off Blue Mountain Road on the south side of U.S. Highway 101.

5 p.m. Friday, April 16.
