Sequim-resident Robert Husser, 89, died Sunday after a two-car collision east of Sequim.
Husser, who was traveling northbound on Palo Alto Road Sunday morning, attempted to turn left onto U.S. Highway 101 in a 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier. Husser failed to yield to oncoming traffic.
He collided with a 1993 GMC pickup driven by James Gertz, 78, of Port Angeles, who was driving eastbound.
Husser was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with head injuries and died there Sunday night.
Gertz was transported to Olympic Medical Hospital in Port Angeles and later released. Both men were wearing seatbelts.
