On 04/30/2010 The Port Angeles Police Department received information that a suspicious vehicle was sighted near Jefferson Elementry School. School officials told police that on 09/29/2010 at approximately 1:25 pm two female students saw a white van parked on Lincoln Street near the school playground.  The students said the male occupant of the van made a hand gesture motioning them toward the van.  The students said at about the same time a police vehicle approached the area with its emergency lights activated and the van left the area.  The students reported the incident to the playground attendant who in turn checked the area and found that the van was indeed gone.

The van is described as a white full sized conversion van with tinted windows and a spare tire with a gray colored cover mounted on the rear bumper.  The only description given of the occupant was that it was a male.
