The Sequim Post Office, 240 Sunnyside Ave., again smells like cake, thanks to employee Cheri Barnett.

She continued her hobby of baking and decorating cakes with a gingerbread train for the 115th Sequim Irrigation Festival.

Barnett made a White House cake for President Obama's inauguration in January. Last June she replicated the Washington Monument for the Fourth of July.

This cake took her 32 hours to finish, longer than normal because she was diagnosed with breast cancer last October and the disease has slowed her down.

She put a pink, breast cancer awareness ribbon on the gingerbread engineer. Barnett said she is receiving chemotherapy and is expected to recover.
