Volunteer camp counselors needed
Clallam County Juvenile Services is recruiting graduating seniors to be volunteer camp counselors for the 2010 Rock 'n' Roll Camp at Camp David Jr. from Aug. 21-27.
The camp is for youths ages 12-16 who either cannot afford to go to camp or could not afford to go because it would be a hardship on family income.
Juvenile Service employees and current counselors provide training. Call 565-2630.
Clallam County Sheriff's Office plans "boating under the influence" emphasis patrols and checks this summer and early fall. The sheriff's Marine Patrol Unit received a $10,000 grant from the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission to help fund the extra marine and lake patrols during salmon season.
