Hands joined together on Saturday, June 26, at Dungeness Landing County Park for Hands across the Sand.

People across the globe, including Sequim, held hands on beaches to show they are against offshore oil drilling.

“We literally and metaphorically drew a line in the sand and said ‘no’ to offshore drilling and ‘yes’ to clean energy to protect our oceans and marine life, our coastal environment and our coastal economies,” Sequim event participant Susan Baker said.

“This is the coastal legacy we must protect for our children and grandchildren.”
