Purple Haze Lavender Farm will be the focus of an upcoming “Good Morning America” segment on ABC. Film crews were at the farm all day Sunday and part of the day Monday collecting footage for a “Weekend Window” feature, said farm owner Mike Reichner. “They spent quite a bit of time here,” he said, adding the crew was filming on the farm until 10 p.m. Sunday and was back at 9 a.m. Monday. Reichner said ABC told him the feature likely would run mid-August. The crew also arranged to stay the night at the Dungeness Lighthouse and go out on a crab fishing boat, he said. The crew got to see the farm at its best as crowds filled the rows of lavender for the festival. “It was nothing less than spectacular,” Reichner said of the festival turnout. “We crushed all our previous records, it was just unbelievable.” Reichner said the farm had three parking lots: two were 2.5 acres and one was 3 acres. All the parking lots consistently were full, he said. “We had to let a car out before we could let a car in,” he said. Geoffrey Castle was the headlining musical act Saturday night and a big hit with the crowd, Reichner said. “There wasn’t room to stand, let alone sit, on Saturday. I’ve never seen anything like it,” he said. Reichner said he and his wife have several weddings to host at the farm but once those are over they will hitch their trailer to a truck and go fly fishing. “Just to catch our breath,” he said.
