OlyCAP and Homeward Bound are offering a free class for first time homebuyers.
The free six-hour class runs at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 14, at the Sequim Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave.
The class prepares buyers for homeownership and familiarizes them with the home buying process and loan programs.
Topics include credit issues, budgeting, sales price negotiation, titles, escrow and the closing process.

Animals fundraiser at Lippert's
Present a coupon and Lippert's restaurant will donate 15 percent of the check to Peninsula Friends of Animals Wednesdays-Fridays Aug. 18-20 and Aug. 25-27.
Coupons will be available at the Peninsula Friends of Animals booth at the Paws in the Garden Show Saturday-Sunday Aug. 14-15 at Vision Landscape Nursery, 131 Kitchen-Dick Road, Sequim.

Window replacement seminar
Hartnagel Building Supply, 3111 Highway 101 East, Port Angeles, hosts a free "Window Replacement Smart Home Seminar" at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17.
Milgard representative Carl Bridge presents benefits of replacing old, drafty windows and information about which types of windows and UV coatings qualify for federal tax credits and energy rebates.
At the seminar, window installers discuss the installation process and Bob Kajfasz from the city of Port Angeles explains a local energy rebate of $6 per square foot for qualifying windows and doors.

Mark Eisenstadt, M.D., medical director at Peninsula Community Mental Health, has retired.
Dr. Eisenstadt was hired for the position in August 1985. He provided psychiatric evaluations, consultation with physicians and medication management. He also provided education and consultation to the medical staff and clinical treatment teams.

A formal agreement was signed between LoBo Designs of Sequim and Print Printers, Inc. of Houston, Texas, to develop an international printing consortium to market hard- and soft-bound books, catalogs, technical manuals, retail catalogs, consumer packaging and CDs/DVDs.
The joint venture will have branch offices throughout North America and abroad.

Health center picks new finance director
Peninsula Community Mental Health Center has hired Bill Hannan as its finance director. He holds a master's degree in business administration, with emphasis in finance, from the University of Southern California. Hannan was hired for the position after Diana Baum retired on June 30 after being with the agency for four years.
Jim Carl Insurance to change location
Jim Carl Insurance, after more than 25 years at the same location, is making a move.
The insurance company, long a downtown Sequim fixture at 136 W. Washington St., is moving two blocks west.
The new location at 369 W. Washington St. is the former location of North South Surf Shop.
According to owner and manager Trevor Campbell, the company plans on moving this Thursday and will be open for business the next day, Friday, Aug. 13. The company's mailing address of PO Box 2077 remains the same, as does the company's telephone number (683-3355).
Campbell said that the staff is quite excited and he noted the new location will have pull-in parking in front of the building. The Campbells purchased Jim Carl Insurance in January 2006.
Quality manager Patricia Troxler and sales representative Nell Clausen completed training courses. They are employees of Sequim homebuilder Estes Builders.
Troxler completed a leadership and supervisory training course.
Clausen learned about women's personality traits and how to design a home that matches/reflects clients' individual tastes and personalities in Women Centric Design.
