A great big thank you once more to our generous sponsors who created the foundation for this year's market. We know that the community values the market and we appreciate your proud support; we couldn't have done it without you. Special thanks to BrokersGroup, Hanna Construction, Mountain Propane and Sequim Animal Hospital.

The Wednesday market just got bigger and earlier. There will be more vendors and they are coming earlier to be there for your lunch break. The downtown corner of Sequim Avenue and Washington Street has been hosting farms and food from 2-6 p.m. this season. Now it will include the wonderful local produce vendors, plus the fabulous Viaggio wood-fired pizza arriving for lunch and a few craft vendors. Wednesday market has seating under umbrellas, pizza for lunch, coffee and chocolate for desert. Then enjoy bringing home some spinach and

carrots for a dinner salad.

Stone Lantern will be performing this Saturday from

11 a.m.-2 p.m. in the market square. New to the market this year and based out of Sequim, let's give these guys a warm welcome.

New at the market this week we have organic cantaloupes, nectarines and peppers. Nash's Farm is teeming with carrots: There are rainbow carrots and 5-pound bags of Nash's fabulous sweet orange carrots for sale.

If you are looking for something natural, beautiful and whimsical to attract nesting birds and other sorts of woodland creatures, such as gnomes and fairies, you'll want to stop in at Whimsical Woods.

Val and Nancy Jackson have been creating incredibly intricate gnome homes and birdhouses for more than 10 years. It is no surprise, as they abide in an enchanted forest themselves. The wood that is used for the houses is taken from downed trees on their property and embellished with everything from moss roofs to home-grown dried flowers. When you think birdhouse, you couldn't possibly imagine such a unique gift for your feathered friends. Say hello to Val and Nancy on Saturdays, thank Val for his work as a board member and bring home a hand-crafted gift to share with someone you adore. www.whimsicalwoods.net.

The community booths will be hosted by Peninsula Friends of Animals, that will be selling beautiful pot holders. All proceeds go to the shelter. Also, the national Court Appointed Special Advocate Association, CASA, will be there and Welfare for Animals Guild of Sequim, WAGS.
