The Clallam County Sheriff's Office is offering anonymous tip reporting through the CrimeNet website at www.clallam.net.
CrimeNet allows users to report suspicious activity anonymously. An instructional video on the site explains how to use CrimeNet. While tips can be reported anonymously, there also is a tool that allows contact information to be provided so a deputy can contact tipsters for follow-up.
The CrimeNet reporting service is useful for reporting code enforcement violations, suspected drug activity and tips on wanted persons and animal abuse, the sheriff's office said in a community message.
If the tips received fall within the Port Angeles or Sequim police department jurisdictions, the information will be forwarded.
CrimeNet can be accessed through the Clallam County website at www.clallam.net under the tab "Popular Items" and scrolling down to "CrimeNet & Neighborhood Watch."
Go to the following link to view the User Guide in either .pdf format or watch the video which is about five minutes long: http://crimenet1.olypen.com/D4/CrimeNetUser.html?CustID=2.
