What's new at the market is our special neighboring event.

During September, there will a walkway at the west end of the market that will connect to "Glass Alley." September has been deemed the month of the "Glass Art Festival."

Glass artists will be set up selling their art and doing live demonstrations each Saturday at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Artists have come from all over the region to participate in this first event.

There also will be an exceptional glass exhibit at the Museum and Arts Center with works coming from all over the world.

We will have a live demonstration from Chris Weir Custom Knives all day this Saturday. If you have not taken in these incredible handmade, hand-forged knives, this is the time to come.

Weir is a talented 20-year-old who has been apprenticing with Jim Stewart of Discovery Bay for four years developing his skills as a "bladesmith."

Bladesmithing is the art of making knives, swords and other blades using a forge, hammer, anvil and other

smithing tools. This is a craft that is thousands of years old and found all around the world.

Besides his exquisite knives, Weir also forges functional pieces for the home. Come experience this unique, traditional craft demonstration.

As always, if you are looking for live entertainment,

great fresh hot wood-fired pizza, barbecue or Thai food, a gift for a friend or yourself, bring yourself, friends and family to the market, this Labor Day weekend.

Joe Bridge and Friends will be playing this week from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. singing old gospels, Irish ballads and folk music. The community booths will be hosted by Dungeness Valley Health & Wellness Clinic, our local free clinic; and Greyhounds, Inc. Come meet some lovely greyhounds and learn about adopting one.
