Munchkins holds closing sale
Munchkins Children's Consignment, 166 E. Bell St., Sequim, will close permanently July 31. All merchandise, including clothes, books, toys and baby equipment, is 50 percent off. Shelving, racks, cash register, mini refrigerator and other equipment are for sale. Call Nora at 683-7878.
Fair holds contest for merchant displays
Clallam County Fair sponsors its annual merchant display contest, with prizes for merchants who create window or in-store displays using the 2011 fair theme, "Rock with the Stock."
Displays should be up for the opening of business on Tuesday, Aug. 9, and remain through the evening of Sunday, Aug. 21.
Entries may be mailed to Clallam County Fair Office, 1608 W. 16th St., Port Angeles, WA 98382; faxed to 360-417-2547; or e-mailed to fairgrounds@co.clallam.wa.us. Call 417-2551 for more information.
Assured Hospice promotes, adds staff
Assured Hospice of Clallam & Jefferson Counties announces recent promotions and staff additions.
Sharon Bartlett, RN, MSN, is promoted from case manager to team leader for Port Townsend, Sequim, Port Angeles and Forks. Dawn Graham, RN, is now the case manager responsible for the Port Angeles, Forks and surrounding areas. Beverly Mizuta, LPN, has relocated from Seattle as the hospice team leader assistant. Tina Moody, MSW, is the new hospice social services worker for the Forks area.
Victoria Jazwic joins the team as bereavement coordinator and facilitator for Assured's bereavement support groups.
Elizabeth Corbett, RN, is Assured Hospice's new per diem nurse and Sky Heatherton, RN, is the volunteer coordinator and community liaison/educator. Reach Assured Hospice at 582-3796.
Sassy Kat moves
The Sassy Kat Salon has a new location at 105 E. First St. in Port Angeles. The business is open 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Mondays-Saturdays and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sundays. The salon also is open after 6 p.m. by appointment.

Stamping coach earns awards
Kate Creasey, owner of happy2bestampin.net and an independent Stampin' Up! demonstrator, has placed eighth among the top 15 new demonstrators, receiving a Rising Star Achievement Award and membership in the 2011 Founder's Circle in recognition of her sales and recruiting efforts in her first full year.
