Afternoon of dancing helps local student

A group of 70 ghouls and girls danced the afternoon away at a benefit Zumba Monster Bash on Oct. 29 at the Boys & Girls Club in Sequim.
Zumba instructors from Sequim and Port Angeles led two hours of dancing for 10-year-old Violet O’Dell, a Helen Haller Elementary student undergoing cancer treatment at Seattle Children’s Hospital. Donations to the dance, raffle items and specialty carved pumpkins raised just over $1,000 for the Violet Fund at Chase Bank.
“Zumba enthusiasts are extremely generous and I am so thankful they came out to do Zumba for this cause,” said co-organizer Teri Lamphear.
