City creates new trails and road

On Oct. 31, Lakeside Industries paved the trail around the Albert Haller Playfields at the Water Reuse Demonstration Site. The orange fencing will be moved on Saturday, Nov. 5, with the trails reopening on Sunday, Nov. 6.
Fencing will remain around the field to protect the recently planted grass.
Seton Construction started grading and placing crushed rock this week on Rhodefer Road, which leads to the new playfields.
New road construction begins
Seton starts constructing the new South 14th Avenue between Grant Road and West Washington Street on Monday, Nov. 7. Workers start at 7 a.m. five days a week with an expected completion in mid-December.
City staff said construction of the new street allows easier access to River Road from nearby businesses. Traffic delays are expected be minimal and not affect River Road.
