SARC holds Family Fun Day

Humane Society offers $5 adoption fee for cats
The Olympic Peninsula Humane Society offers a special $5 adoption fee on cats and kittens 5 months or older between Saturday, Nov. 26, and Saturday, Dec. 3.

Online payment options for Sequim utility bills
Beginning Dec.1, consumers may make payments to the City of Sequim using credit and debit cards by accessing GovPayNetSM.
GovPayNet accepts major credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover) and debit cards for payments 24 hours a day, seven days week. It can be accessed through the city’s website (www.sequimwa.gov), directly online (www.govpaynow.com) or by phone (888-604-7888).
Cardholders can make
payments on their own behalf or on behalf of friends or family. Cardholders pay a fee to GovPayNet at the time of their transaction. There is no fee charged by the City of Sequim for participation.
Office discontinues GIS mapping
Due to budget cuts, the Clallam County Assessor’s office, 223 E. Fourth St., Suite #2, Port Angeles, no longer will participate in the Geographical Information Systems for Clallam County after Nov. 30.
Questions about parcel or property values may be directed to the Assessor’s office, 417-2400.
Questions about GIS mapping or property division may be referred to the Department of Community Development or the Auditor’s office.
Toy drive benefits local children
KONP radio and the Olympic Peninsula Eagles football team are sponsoring their third annual toy drive for the Salvation Army from Monday-Sunday, Dec. 5-11. Drop-off bins will be at all Safeway and Wave Broadband stores in Sequim and Port Angeles.
On Saturday, Dec.10, Eagles players will be at the Safeway stores to greet the public from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
Nonprofit picks up at Safeway
The Arc of Kitsap & Jefferson Counties will be parked to pick up gently used clothing and small household items at the Sequim Safeway, 680 W. Washington St., from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3. Pick-ups are scheduled for the first Saturday of every month thereafter.
Donations are tax deductible and help provide services to people living with developmental disabilities in Clallam County.
KSQM celebrates anniversary
Radio station KSQM 91.5 FM celebrates its third anniversary Wednesday, Dec. 7. The community is invited to an open house from 2-6 p.m., at the station, 577 W. Washington St., Suite C, Sequim. There will be cake and coffee and a tour of the station facilities with the DJs and volunteers who help keep the station on the air.

Forum on protest and civil liberties set
Stop the Checkpoints invites the public to a forum, “No Police State: Defending Civil Liberties in Times of Protest,” at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at the Elwha Klallam Heritage Center, 401 E. First St., Port Angeles.
Veteran civil liberties attorney Val Carlson, vice president of the Seattle Chapter of the National Lawyers Guild, discusses the importance of defending First Amendment rights and civil liberties during times of protest.
A question-and-answer session follows her presentation.
OPHS hosts raptor program
The Olympic Peninsula Humane Society holds its monthly community outreach program from 3-5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, at the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St.
Jaye Moore of the Northwest Raptor and Wildlife Center will be the guest speaker. Shelter veterinarian Dr. Suzy Zustiak fields “Ask the Vet” questions from the audience. Call OPHS at 457-8206.
