A 78-year-old man died Wednesday afternoon of injuries received when his boat exploded.

 

Keith Bryant suffered burns and other injuries after a propane tank blew up in his 38-foot boat at the John Wayne Marina Jan. 31.

 

Sequim Police Sgt. Sean Madison said a medical examiner conducted an autopsy Thursday and indicated Bryant died of injuries consistent with the explosion.

 

"We were all optimistic because he stabilized but he couldn't pull through," Madison said.

 

Bryant was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center following the incident.

 

The police department concluded their investigation and will send it to the appropriate entities, he said.
