Master Gardener Rita Dinger presents âLemon-Scented/Flavored Herbsâ at noon Thursday, July 12, in Port Angeles. The WSU Clallam County Master Gardener program is free and open to the public.

Washington State University Clallam County Master Gardener Program's Sequim plant clinic manager, Rita Dinger, expands olfactory horizons with "Lemon-Scented/Flavored Herbs,” a brown-bag "Green Thumb Garden Tips" program at noon Thursday, July 12, in the county commissioners conference room of the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles. 

The free program covers harvesting and using herbs with citrusy scents and flavors. She provides herb samples and will give away a few plants. 

Attendees may bring a lunch.

Recognized as the 2010 Clallam County Master Gardener of the Year, Dinger has donated more than 2,000 hours of volunteer service at local demonstration gardens and plant clinics. She has taught classes and written articles on garlic, herbs, crop rotation and sustainable vegetable garden planning.
