The main organizer of sprint boat races in Port Angeles has been hospitalized after suffering an assault near the track, according to KONP Newsradio 1450.

 

Dan Morrison, of Port Angeles, was reportedly beaten Saturday evening, Sept. 8, after the national championship races wrapped up at the Extreme Sports Park along Edgewood Drive in Port Angeles.

 

Sources indicate that following the races last Saturday, Morrison went to the campground on the premises of the Extreme Sports Park, after a report of some rowdy behavior by some young campers, KONP reported.

 

Morrison was reportedly attacked by at least two of the individuals and suffered serious injuries. Port Angeles deputy police chief Brian Smith says they are still looking into the incident and hope to release more details soon, according to the news report.
