Power to more than 10,000 Clallam County homes were recently restored following an outage that hit Sequim and Port Angeles earlier today.
Clallam PUD District 1 experienced a major power outage that began at about 11:50 a.m. today. The affected area was from Gales Addition in Port Angeles to the Dungeness River, leaving about 11,000 customers without power.
PUD officials said at 12:30 p.m. that power had been restored to all but about 850 customers served by of the Deer Park substation (east of Port Angeles along US Highway 101, near Mount Pleasant Road).
The outage was due to at least one fallen tree on power lines near Kitchen-Dick Road, district officials said.
The PUD estimates power will be restored to those Port Angeles customers by about 3:00 p.m. today.
UPDATE:
Power has been restored fully to customers in Clallam PUD District 1.
