Clallam County Fire District 3 begins its annual Christmas Toy and Food Collection Drive on Tuesday, Dec. 11.
Santa Claus and firefighters will ride in a 1940 firetruck through town playing music and collecting nonperishable food for the Sequim Food Bank and packaged toys and blankets for Sequim Community Aid's Toys for Sequim Kids.They'll be handing out candy canes and hot chocolate.
The truck drives through from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. Dec. 11, Downtown Sequim, west of Sequim Avenue; Wednesday, Dec. 12, Downtown Sequim, east of Sequim Avenue; Thursday, Dec. 13, Emerald Highlands area; and Friday, Dec. 14, Sunland (5-7 p.m.) and Costco (7-9 p.m.).
Firefighters also accept donations from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. through Dec. 17, at the fire station headquarters, 323 N. Fifth Ave.
The Sequim Gazette is located at 147 W. Washington Street in Sequim.
