On Dec. 17, firefighter/paramedic Len Horst and members of Clallam County Fire District 3, along with the Boy Scouts Fire Explorer Post, deliver food and toys collected during the “Santa’s Toy and Food Fire Brigade.” Each year a decorated fire engine carrying Santa travels the roads of Sequim collecting new toys and nonperishable food items. This year, the brigade crew collected about 1,356 pounds of food and enough toys and bicycles to fill a flatbed truck and an ambulance. The food was delivered to the Sequim Food Bank (683-1205) and the toys to Sequim Community Aid (681-3731) for distribution to those in need this holiday season.
