An informational meeting about the Sequim School DIstrict's maintenance and operation levy and transportation vehicle levy is scheduled from 2:30-3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 15, at the Sequim Senior Activity Center, 921 E. Hammond St.
The meeting is sponsored by the League of Women Voters and Sequim Senior Activity Center.
The school district is running a replacement levy to cover four years (2014–2017); the current levy expires in 2013.
If passed, the Transportation Vehicle Levy would replace the aging bus fleet. It is a one-time levy which will provide funds to purchase yellow buses through 2039; other transportation costs (staffing, fuel) is paid from the school district's general fund.
Information will be presented by Citizens for Sequim Schools. Barring schedule conflicts, Sequim School Board members, Superintendent Kelly Shea and Finance Manager Brian Lewis from the district will be present to help answer questions.
