Betty Lancaster
A memorial service for Betty Lancaster of Sequim will be held from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, at Guy Cole Convention Center in Carrie Blake Park, on Blake Avenue in Sequim. Mrs. Lancaster died Sept. 30.

Dorothy Dixon
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. Oct. 21, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 121 W. Maple St., for former Sequim resident Dorothy Dixon, who died Sept. 29, 2008, at the age of 100.
She was born Nov. 16, 1907, in Minneapolis, Minn., to Royal and Genevieve Whiting. She moved to Seattle with her family when she was 14.
In 1936, she married Roger (Ray) Dixon. A homemaker and seamstress, she enjoyed traveling with her husband and daughter, square dancing, football and baseball games. After her husband died in 1972, Mrs. Dixon moved to
Sequim, where she made many friends. A kind and generous person, she was active at St. Joseph's Catholic Church and enjoyed playing cards and bingo. In 2003, she moved to Richland to be close to family.
She is survived by daughter Judy Heintz; brothers Richard and Robert Whiting; sister Lois Latimore; a granddaughter; and four great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers Donald, James and Kenneth Whiting.

Richard Monte Booher
A service has been held for Port Angeles resident Richard Monte Booher, who died Sept. 27, 2008, at the age of 76 of cancer.
He was born May 26, 1932, in Homestead, Pa., to John Morrison and Margaret Maude Barnes Booher.
He married Ollie Mae Long on Nov. 11, 1955, in Reno, Nev. She died Sept. 28, 2005.
Mr. Booher was a journeyman plumber and pipefitter for 40 years with Local 582 in Santa Ana, Calif. He lived in Anaheim, Calif., from 1955-1993, then moved to Kelso where he lived until 1998. He moved to Port Angeles in 1998, where he built a retirement home. He loved fishing, boating and going out to Ediz Hook.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Fred and Lynda Booher of Anaheim; daughter and son-in-law Rhonda and Mark Greiner of Lake Forest, Calif.; brothers and sisters-in-law Ronald and Molly Booher of Newton, N.C., and Dennis and Judy Booher of Owings Mills, Md.; sisters and brothers-in-law Lois Oppel of Lewistown, Pa., Barbara and Tom Reed of Altoona, Pa.; and Janice and Bob Romanoff of North Potomac, Md.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Dorothy May Adams
A service has been held for Port Angeles resident Dorothy May Adams, who died Sept. 26, 2008, at the age of 85.
She was born Nov. 20, 1922, in Portland, Ore., to Harold Payson and Mary Willa McFarland Fox.
She married Burton Arnold Adams on Sept. 12, 1942, in Eugene, Ore. He preceded her in death in 1984. Mrs. Adams worked as a bookkeeper for her husband's business. She was a devout and very active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed swimming and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her sons Burton Carl Adams of Seattle and Robert Arnold Adams of Port Angeles; daughter Linda May Anantatmula of Spokane; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Sharon Gallauher Hereim
A service has been held for Port Angeles resident Sharon Gallauher Hereim, who died Sept. 27, 2008, at the age of 58 of natural causes.
She was born Sept. 16, 1950, in Port Angeles, to Myrtle Emma Stark and Lloyd "Diker" Gallauher. She earned a graduation equivalency diploma.
She worked as a bartender and caregiver in the Port Angeles area. She loved spending time listening to her grandson play his guitar and playing bingo and dice with her best friend and sister Susie Rice. She was especially fond of spending time with her family and cooking.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Stacy and Bryan Adams of Port Angeles; brothers Lenny, David and Harold Gallauher, all of Port Angeles; sisters Susie Rice, Janice Blood and Judy Beavers, all of Port Angeles; and Joanne Martin of Sequim; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Rachel Hereim; brother Jackie Gallauher; sister Joy McMinn; and parents Myrtle and Lloyd Gallauher.

Frances Langley
No service has been reported for Port Angeles resident Frances Langley, who died Sept. 28, 2008, at the age of 84.
She was born Aug. 8, 1924, in Zanesville, Ohio, to Harry and Bertha Price Heck.
She married Alan Langley on Sept. 21, 1973, in Bothell. She retired from Safeway as the cafeteria manager after 28 years in Bellevue. Mrs. Langley enjoyed golf, bingo and traveling to Reno. She was a member of Kirkland Eagles.
She is survived by her husband, Alan Langley of Port Angeles; daughter Karen Cushway of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sons Sanford, Dale and Wayne Graber; and step-daughter Wendy Langley.

Mayne A. Lampson
Sequim resident Mayne A. Lampson died Oct. 3, 2008, at the age of 85. A private family service will be held.
He was born Sept. 14, 1923, in Aurora, Ill., to James and Ada Tuthill Lampson.
