Jordan Kenneth Madsen
October 2, 1959
to November 19, 2010

Jordan Madsen, 76, of Sequim flew with his family to San Jose, California over Thanksgiving to attend an unexpected funeral for his eldest son Jordan Kenneth Madsen. Jordan woke up the day of his son’s funeral and suffered a massive stroke and passed away a week later.
Jordan is survived by his lovely wife of 53 years Hope Palacios Madsen, his son Don Madsen, his daughter and son-in-law Esther and Greg Hudson, and his daughter-in-law Kim Madsen. Papa Jordan’s grandchildren are Tarynn Kettel, Hailey McHugh,
Dana Madsen, Holly Hudson and #1 grandson Brendon Hudson.
Jordan was part of the elite Marine Team that christened the Thetis Bay. He was honored to be a part of history as well as being a marine.
One of his greatest joys was being a baseball coach to his boys and to his grandson Brendon. Papa Jordan suffered from Parkinson’s disease as well as cancer, so he was able to share things that were important to him in case he should pass. Papa asked me to let the Doyle McMinn Family know how much he appreciated them letting him be the Grandpa Coach for his grandson’s little league team in Sequim. It will go down as one of the greatest memories in our family’s life. Thank you, Coach McMinn, for understanding the true spirit of baseball. Papa wanted us to make sure you got this message.
Jordan loved the Lord with all his heart and will be celebrating Christmas in heaven along with his boy this year.
On behalf of our family, Semper Fi and God bless you all.

Margarita (Fenerly) Hudson
1932-2010      .
Margarita Hudson was born on East Sequim Bay Thanksgiving  Day, November 25, 1932.  She passed away December 13, 2010, on East Sequim Bay, after living with cancer for 2 years. Rita was the last child of Greek immigrants, Stavros and Anastasia Fenerly, a pioneer family of Sequim.
She graduated from Sequim High School in 1951, then got her Associates Degree from Everett Jr. College, where she met the love of her life, Golden Hudson.  They were married in 1955, and had 3 children.
In 1961 the young family moved to Anchorage Alaska, not just for a teaching job, but for a new adventure. Rita completed her college degree, earned a teaching certificate, and taught 1 year in Anchorage before moving back to Lynnwood, Washington in 1967, where both spouses taught in the Edmonds School District until retirement.
They built their dream home overlooking the bay and Rita’s childhood home, and spent many happy years there together- gardening, tending to the family property, and entertaining family and friends.  The couple did some traveling around the West and Midwest, and Rita went farther afield to Hawaii, Mexico, France, and on a wonderful cruise from Bangkok to Australia.
Rita was a beautiful woman, inside and out – generous, hospitable, and unpretentious with everyone. She will be remembered for her intelligence, her open mind, and her great sense of humor. She was artistic, a wonderful cook and gardener, and a caring teacher, all while being a supportive wife, mother, sister, grandma and friend.
Rita will be sorely missed by her husband of 55 years, Golden, her children, Anne (Pierre), Steve (Colleen), Julie (Jim), and her grandchildren, Angele, Austin, Lauren, Lindsay, Nik, Landon, Taylor and Jean-Luc, her sister, May, and countless friends.
In lieu of sending flowers, plant some in your garden next spring and think of Rita. Also, please support Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County: 540 E. 8th St, Port Angeles, WA 98362- hospiceofclallamcounty.org.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

Jennifer Leann Brown
June 23, 1972 - December 3, 2010

Jennifer Leann Brown met her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 3, 2010 at the age of 38 after a short but brave battle with colon cancer. She was the firstborn of Debra K. (Fuller) Brown & Jeffrey L. Brown, coming into this world on June 23,1972 in Port Angeles. Jenny was diagnosed with Down’s syndrome at birth. At the age of 8 months a seizure disorder took her seemingly normal life away and she was later diagnosed with cerebral palsy. She remains the sweetest, most patient, ever-forgiving, trusting and loving of any person we have ever known. Music of any kind, stuffed animals (mostly lambs), musical toys, the touch of real kitties and dogs, and colorful Christmas lights were things she experienced and loved.
She walked with assistance, managed to move her wheelchair across the room by pushing the wheel with her foot and oh my, was she ticklish, making clean-up and changing clothes nearly impossible, to our delight. One of her proudest accomplishments was to walk a complete lap on the high school track with assistance while attending Sequim Schools where she received an honorary diploma in 1993 at the age of 21.
Many touched her life while in school, including teachers
Brenda Poot-Keene and Barbara Cooper, aids George Stuber and Joanne Kidd, and bus drivers Mary Kay Williamson, Linda Livingston and Jane Adams. Thank you is not enough when it comes to her caregivers, her Grandma Betty Brown and her Aunt & Uncle Jim & Beverly Brown - you helped us give Jenny the best when she was cared-for away from home. All of these years we able to keep her with family because of you. Special thanks to her long-time doctor, Michael Crim and staff and DDD caseworker Ann Guthrie.
Jenny will be missed, that’s certain, especially her smiles that she gave so freely, her precious special noises she made; they are the things that now comfort us. Free from her earthly shell, she is now dancing, skipping, walking and praising God in heaven and that is our assurance that we can join her there. We look forward to being able to have walks and talks with her that we couldn’t have here on Earth, now that she’s perfect and whole in heaven.
She leaves behind her parents Debbie and Jeff Brown of Sequim, sisters Kimberly Bergstrom (Eric) of Kirkland, Sarah McCarthey (Ryan) of Sequim, 2nd cousin/sister Kayla Pierce of Mountlake Terrace, grandmother & former caregiver Betty Brown of Sequim, aunt and uncle and caregivers Jim & Beverly Brown of Sequim, aunt Beverly Sande of Marysville, cousins Ryan and Ashley Brown and Joy Newman of Sequim, LeAnn King of Shoreline, and Steve Sande (Robyn) of Granite Falls, and step-cousin,
Carrie LeHan of Silverdale. In her lifetime, she was preceded in death
by great-grandmothers Pearl King and Margaret Rogers,
great-grandfathers Roy King and Clarence Rogers, grandparents Malcolm & Virginia Fuller, aunt Sheryl Mersereau and uncle Rodney Rogers.
Arrangements were made by Sequim Valley Chapel. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the Little Brown Church of Blyn, 220 Zaccardo Road in Blyn; the church she called her home church. The service will be officiated by Pastor Steve Devine. Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to Children’s Hospital and Medical Center, or Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County.
