The family moved to Sequim, Washington in 1974 where they bought acreage and a log cabin, grew their own food, tended their livestock, chopped wood and carried water.  As part of an intentional community, they practiced non-violent conflict resolution, recycling, opposed nuclear energy/war, and promoted social justice. To support the family financially, Mike took a variety of jobs including school bus driver, construction work, and tending bar. As an active member of the Port Angeles Teamsters Union Local 589, he was shop steward.
Proud to be an American, Mike was prouder still to be a Citizen of Planet Earth. He saw activism as a natural extension of his civic duty.   Among the organizations he supported and/or helped establish were: Sequim Peace Coalition, North Olympic Peace Fellowship, Friends of the Ditch and the Sequim Conference of St. Vincent de Paul. He served on the Parks Board of Clallam County and was an active member of the Democratic Party where he was an elected precinct committee member. Mike was also a Cub Master, a Eucharistic Minister at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and a longtime member of the ACLU.
In 1989 Mike moved to Seattle with his wife and worked as Supervisor of Admissions for the Seattle Housing Authority and was a member/Chief Steward of OPEIU Local 8. In 2001 Uncle Otto as he was affectionately known to many, worked for his nephew Steven Villegas at UTILIKILTS earning the title Manager of Customer Amazement.  Mike enjoyed reading, jazz and blues, and rooting for the Seattle Mariners.
Both parents, Robert Gerald Jerry Graham and Leone Frances Dryden, stepfather Dennis F. Shanahan and brother Richard John Graham are deceased.  Mike is surrounded by his wife Pamela, his three children; Jodi (Keith) Wallace, Drew (Kerry) Graham of Bellingham, WA and Aimee (Norleen) Graham of Covington, WA and his three grandchildren Rachel Wallace, Graham Wallace and Dryden Graham. Also surrounding him are his older brother James Dryden Graham of Durango, CO; his younger sisters Mary Durby of Round Mountain, CA and Theresa Daily of Eugene, OR, his loving step-mother Shirley Kriedt Graham of Napa Valley, CA. and best friend Tony Ramos of Westchester, CA.
