Mary Jean King
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at Sequim Valley Funeral Chapel, 108 W. Alder St., Sequim, for  Sequim resident Mary Jean King, who died Nov. 1, 2012, at the age of 87.
She was born Oct. 29, 1925, in Port Angeles to Harry Archibald and Rose Isabel Stiles Thompson.
She married Lawrence Albert King on Oct. 17, 1942, in Sequim. She raised her family on the Olympic Peninsula.
She is survived by her brother, Harry Thompson; sisters Cora Priest, Thelma Connor, Harriet Eriksen and Betty Chase; sons and daughters-in-law Wayne and Dale King, and Warren and Peggy King, all of Sequim; son David King, of Sequim; daughters Joanne Dawson, of Tacoma, and Jean Cole, of Sequim; 19 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.


Phyllis Elaine Crissman
Burial will be at Greenlawn Southwest in Bakersfield, Calif., for Sequim resident Phyllis Elaine Crissman, who died Oct. 31, 2012, at the age of 85.
She was born March 13, 1927, in Redbank, Pa., to Eugene E. and Flora E. Champion Miles.
She married Harold Edgar Crissman in September 1945 in Pennsylvania. He preceded her in death on May 12, 2007.
She moved to California in 1947 and then to Sequim in 1979. She later returned to California.
She worked as a meat cutter, waitress and cook and was a military wife and homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Happy Miles.
She is survived by daughter Kathleen Hope Zangara, of Sequim; daughter and son-in-law Cheryl G. and Joseph Espedal, of California; son and daughter-in-law Harold Edwin and Carol Crissman, of Silverdale; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Sequim Valley Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.


Jack Gamet Lyons
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today, Nov. 7, at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 525 N. Fifth Ave., in Sequim, for Sequim resident Jack Gamet Lyons, who died Oct. 22, 2012, at the age of 87. The Rev. Robert Rhoads officiates; burial of ashes will be in the columbarium at St. Luke’s.
He was born Jan. 8, 1925, in Sioux City, Iowa, to William Irl and Fanchon Gamet Lyons.
He served in the U.S. Army in the European theater during World War II. He attended Scottsbluff Junior College and the University of Kentucky.
He married Dorothy Bruett in 1948 in Scottsbluff, Neb. She preceded him in death in 1974.
In October 1975 he married Evelyn Witschy Goldfain.
He was a partner in the Wyoming News Company in Worland, Wyo., for 40 years.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Lyons.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Lyons, of
Sequim; sisters Polly Ferguson, of Salida, Colo., and Sara Hippe, of Lincoln, Neb.; stepsister Susan Kautz, of Sheridan, Wyo.; sons and daughters-in-law Bill and Jean Lyons of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Mark and Diana Lyons of Bridgeville, Pa.; four stepchildren, 17 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and nine nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions can be made to St. Luke’s Episcopal Church Memorial Fund. Sequim Valley Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
