B&G's 2010 Kindercamp summer is set

The Sequim Boys & Girls Club's 2010 Kindercamp summer - for youths entering kindergarten or first grade - is packed full of adventure, from exploring farms, flight and nature to outer space.

Camp times are 9 a.m.-noon each weekday, with aftercare set for 8-9 a.m. and noon-6 p.m. each weekday.

Cost is $80 per week; some field trips may require an additional fee. Payment is due no later than the Monday of each week.

Listed below are the camp themes for the summer.

_ June 21-25 - Space Adventures

This galactic week includes building Land Rovers, attempting to relocate some friendly aliens and studying space specimens.

_ June 28-July 2 - Farm Life

Green Acres, anyone? The group visits several local farms and tries their hands at making butter and ice cream.

_ July 5-9 - Under the Sea

A fun-packed week is in store, discovering what lives under the sea through a variety of hands-on activities. Field trips include visiting the Port Townsend Marine Science Center and Sequim Bay State Park.

_ July 12-16 - The World of Flight

Airplanes, helicopters, hot air balloons, rockets, birds - if it flies, Boys & Girls Club campers are checking it out. Field trips include the Coast Guard and the Museum of Flight.

_ July 19-23 - Puppet Theater

In this imaginative week, learn how to make a variety of puppets and the necessary props. The camp culminates with a fairy-tale performance. Field trip is to the Children's Puppet Museum in Bremerton.

_ July 26-30 - Kids Can Cook!

Youths rule the kitchen this week. Campers cook up loads of kid-friendly recipes, taking a field trip to pick berries, and a couple of guests come to share secret recipes.

_ Aug. 2-6 - Bug Mania

This creepy crawly week includes a visit from Seattle's Bug Safari and several bug hunts to discover the secret life of bugs.

_ Aug. 9-13 - Calling All Animals

Campers visit the animals this week, going to the Northwest Raptor Center and the Dungeness River Audubon Center, as well as bringing them in from a local 4-H chapter

_ Aug. 16-20 - Discovering our Own Backyard

Discovering the wonders of the Olympic Peninsula. Field trips include Hurricane Ridge, Marymere Falls and Salt Creek.
