On Aug. 29 and 30, members of the Clallam County Orcas, a Special Olympics team, participated in the Summer Sports Classic in Everett. Competing against athletes from all over the state in tee-ball, softball and golf individual skill events, each Orca came away with at least one gold medal.

The Orcas compete in bowling, basketball, track and field, aquatics and softball throughout the year.

Those interested in participating with the Clallam County Orcas as an athlete, coach or volunteer may call Wendy Bonham at 477-4134.
