With one week to go in the fall 2009 campaign, Sequim's Wolves have a chance at redemption.

Sequim has a chance to get out of the Olympic League cellar with a win against North Mason on Oct. 29, the season finale for both squads.

A win would help Sequim (0-10-1 in league, 1-11-1 overall) avoid a campaign that's seen zero league victories.

The Wolves couldn't avoid a pair of shutouts last week, capped by a 6-0 loss at Kingston on Oct. 22.

As in previous games, the Wolves kept things close, giving up two first-half goals against the Buccaneers. Kristi Mellum opened the scoring at 20 minutes and Tori Gerken added a score eight minutes later.

But Kingston poured it on in the second half, getting two more scores from Gerken and one each from Kyla Jorgensen and Jaime Schultz.

It was the eighth time

Sequim's been held scoreless this fall.

The Wolves were scheduled to be in action against Port Townsend at home on Oct. 27 - results were unavailable at press time.

When the Wolves play North Mason two days later, they'll look to beat a team they had on the ropes but eventually tied 3-3 on Sept. 10.

Eagles soar

past Sequim

Just one stop on their way to a 2A title.

Klahowya got two goals each from Jordan Dixon and Courtney Lewandowski as Klahowya shut out the Wolves 5-0 on Oct. 20 in Silverdale.

It's the seventh time

Sequim has been held scoreless this season.

Lewandowski opened the scoring just five minutes in and Dixon followed with a tally just before halftime.

Eagle Bekka Schell added a score at the 60-minute mark.
